Dr. Bernd L. Fiebich is the managing director of VivaCell Biotechnology GmbH in Denzlingen. He studied biology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, specializing in genetics, developmental biology, and cell biology. His thesis dealt with paternal mutants of the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. As part of his doctoral studies at the Institute for Molecular Cell Biology (Gödecke / Parke-Davies AG), he investigated the expression of PKC isoforms and VEGF in baculovirus-infected cells.
Since the early 1990s, he has been conducting research on inflammatory processes in the nervous system and their significance for neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Freiburg. He is co-founder and managing director of VivaCell Biotechnology GmbH (1999).
