Over time, our cartilage and joint structures are affected by heavy strain or degradation processes. This can lead to inflammatory processes in our joints and we lose the pleasure of movement.

The prerequisite for healthy joints and bones is an adequate supply of the right nutrients. However, it is only through regular exercise that these nutrients get to where they are needed. It is therefore important to remain active within your individual capabilities, even if you have joint problems.

Collagen

Collagen type II is the most powerful joint nutrient in the body. Collagens keep the cartilage tissue elastic, which improves the cushioning effect in the joints and produces more synovial fluid.

The multi-patented BioCell Collagen® Type II from the USA contained in Arthrol® is structurally similar to human cartilage and is intended to support its regeneration, e.g. in the case of age-related signs of wear and tear or after sports injuries. [5] [6] 

Glucosamine and chondroitin

Glucosamine and chondroitin are natural components of cartilage. With increasing age, however, the body's own production decreases. We are therefore dependent on an external supply. Clinical studies have shown that this powerful combination is able to build up and regenerate cartilage tissue if you take it over a longer period of time. [7] 

Frankincense

The Arthrol® formula contains AprèsFlex®, a standardised, patented special frankincense extract. A study has shown that frankincense extract can improve joint mobility. The ingredients of frankincense responsible for the favourable effects are summarised under the term boswellic acids. The strongest effect is attributed to the boswellic acid AKBA. [8] [9] 

MSM

Sulphur (MSM) is found in the synovial fluid and in the inner layer of the joint capsule. Due to daily stress, sulphur must be constantly replenished by the body through food. MSM is said to play a key role in the formation of healthy joint cartilage, as it supplies the joint with biologically active sulphur. [10] [11] 

Hyaluronic acid

The joints are dependent on hyaluronic acid for their pain-free mobility. It is the main component of synovial fluid and ensures that the bones do not rub painfully against each other during movement. From the age of 25, however, the hyaluronic acid content and thus the synovial fluid steadily decreases and a dietary supplement with hyaluronic acid can be useful. [12] 

Vitamin C

In order for hyaluronic acid to be well distributed, the collagen in the surrounding tissue must be intact. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, bones and blood vessels and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. [4] 

Other supporting vitamins and minerals

• Manganese contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, to normal connective tissue formation and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
• Vitamin B6 contributes to the normal synthesis of cysteine, an amino acid that stimulates the production of collagen.
• Copper contributes to the maintenance of normal connective tissue to protect cells from oxidative stress.
• Vitamin D3 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and normal muscle function.
• Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

What should be considered when taking Arthrol®?

Arthrol® is generally well tolerated and safe when taken in the recommended amounts. However, please note the following information:

• If you suffer from known allergies to one or more of the ingredients in this product or are taking medication, consult your doctor before taking it.
• This product is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
• Not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
• Do not take other supplements containing zinc on the same day.
