Kyra Kauffmann, born in 1971, is a German health practitioner and author specializing in functional medicine and holistic approaches to complex health conditions. After completing a degree in economics at the University of Cologne, she worked for several years in leadership positions in the banking sector.
Her own experience with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and burnout fundamentally changed her life and career path. Conventional medical treatments offered her little relief, so she began exploring modern naturopathic methods. These therapies not only helped her regain her health, but also inspired her to train as a Heilpraktikerin (licensed natural health practitioner). Since 2004, she has been running her own practice, first in Hofheim am Taunus and later in Düsseldorf, with a focus on uncovering the root causes behind conditions such as thyroid and adrenal disorders, mast cell activation disorders, celiac disease, mitochondrial dysfunction, and chronic fatigue.
Beyond her clinical work, Kyra is passionate about sharing knowledge with a wider audience through books, seminars, and online content. She is the author of several publications on burnout prevention, hormone balance, and natural health strategies, including her well-received book Natürlich high on the body’s natural “happiness hormones.”
Today, Kyra continues to combine her analytical background with deep expertise in functional and naturopathic medicine, helping patients and readers alike to find sustainable paths back to vitality and health.
Ribose, also called D-ribose, is a simple monosaccharide with 5 carbons, also called pentose. It is used by all cells of the body and is an important part of the energy metabolism. Ribose also provides the structural backbone of our genetic material, DNA and RNA, certain vitamins and other important cell connections.
The gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is one of the most common inhibitory (inhibitory) neurotransmitters in the brain. Many people value nutritional supplements with the active ingredient for their relaxing effects, but in fact GABA also plays a crucial role in regulating many aspects in the body, such as mood, concentration, pain, sleep, and much more.
Each of us experiences phases in which we feel unhappy or sad. However, if you are strangely depressed for over a longer period of time, this can be an indication of a depression.
