The human body is exposed to so-called "free radicals" on a daily basis, which can be caused by environmental influences: for example, by UV radiation when sunbathing, by car and industrial fumes, by smoking, and by substances produced when barbecuing or frying. Even during exercise, the body produces larger amounts of free radicals due to the greatly increased energy metabolism.

Astaxanthin

As a carotenoid, astaxanthin is a secondary plant substance with antioxidant properties. In nature, astaxanthin occurs, for example, as a pigment in the blood rain algae (Haematococcus pluvialis).  

Astaxanthin is produced when the Haematococcus pluvialis alga is under stress. It then sheds its flagella and develops a thick cell wall and the pigment astaxanthin for protection. The Haematococcus pluvialis surrounds itself with this and becomes spherical in the process. In the protective, stable shell that is formed in this way, it can survive for up to 40 years without water.

Hibiscus extract  

Hibiscus extract is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, and it also contains vitamin A and the minerals calcium and iron. It also contains linoleic acid, organic acids (malate, oxalate, citric acid and hibiscus acid), phenolic acid (caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid) and other phenolic compounds such as flavonoids and anthocyanins.

Guarana extract
