The human body is exposed to so-called "free radicals" on a daily basis. These highly reactive oxygen compounds are produced naturally during metabolic processes – such as cellular respiration or immune responses – as well as from external factors like UV radiation, air pollution, tobacco smoke, or certain substances formed during grilling and frying.
Although the body is equipped with complex protective mechanisms, when the balance between free radicals and these defenses is disrupted and the damaging effects of free radicals outweigh the protective mechanisms, oxidative stress results. Oxidative stress is a factor in all the accompanying symptoms of aging - from aging skin to declining muscle strength to failing memory.

OPC – polyphenols from grape seed extract
In humans, polyphenols like OPC are linked to a reduced risk of various diseases. Studies indicate that OPCs have pronounced antioxidant properties.
For example, one study shows that OPC can achieve a 78 to 81 percent inhibition of oxidants and free radicals at a concentration of 100 mg / l.
Another study found that OPC grape seed extract capsules have an antioxidant effect that is at least equal to, and sometimes even stronger than, that of pure vitamin C, E, or beta-carotene.
The antioxidant properties of trans-resveratrol
Studies suggest that the antioxidant properties of the polyphenol resveratrol support the process of cell renewal in the human body. Based on these studies, trans-resveratrol is believed to contribute to
protection of cells from oxidative stress,
a positive influence on the cell renewal process,
improving cell resistance,
and may thus also provide support in cases of premature skin ageing (wrinkles).
