Study: The influence of Chia seeds on blood pressure
In a Canadian study[1] with 20 participants, the volunteers supplemented their food either daily with Chia seeds or with wheat bran for 12 weeks. On average, systolic blood pressure in the chia seed group decreased by 6.3 mmHg after 12 weeks.
No comparable effect was observed in the control group. On the contrary: the systolic blood pressure had even increased by 7 mmHg on average.
