Red rice

Buy red rice - What you should know

Red rice extract can significantly contribute to lowering the LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels after just 2-3 months of use.

If you're looking to buy red rice, you've come to the right place. Here you will find red rice capsules with an optimal monacolin K content of the highest quality, guaranteed free of unwanted additives. Before you buy red rice capsules, you can find out what to consider here.

Red rice capsules naturally help normalize cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood - without any side effects.

Cardiovascular diseases are still the number 1 cause of death in Europe and this trend is increasing. In 2011, a total of 40.2 percent of deaths in the German population occurred as a result of cardiovascular diseases, according to the Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden.

This is around 342,000 people and the statistics in Austria are no different, analogous to the population.

The cause is usually an increased cholesterol level (hypercholesterolaemia), which can lead to arteriosclerosis, angina pectoris, stroke and heart attack. Due to the increasing calcification and narrowing of the blood vessels, which can be compared to the slow calcification of a water pipe in a washing machine, it leads to clots and even to complete clogging of the arteries and veins.

One of the main reasons for the increase in the cholesterol level is, besides genetic dispositions, our high-fat, unhealthy diet.

This is shown by studies that compare the cholesterol levels of northern and southern Europeans as well as Asians. While the latter gives preference to Mediterranean cuisine and a diet rich in vegetables and fish, northern Europeans still eat too much fat and meat-oriented.

In addition to this, people consume far too much sugar and salt. Other causes are a lack of exercise, negative stress, obesity, regular alcohol consumption and smoking.

Fermented red rice - The purification column in the arteries

The fermented red rice is not to be confused with the red-skinned rice available as food, which is used for cooking.

The use of red fermented rice flour as a medicine used in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) goes back to the year 800 BC. Even then, it was recommended for the treatment of so-called 'phlegm' diseases, which can manifest themselves in obesity, bloating or chronic fatigue, among other things. An increased cholesterol level is also a 'phlegm' disease in TCM.

Fermented red rice is produced by fermenting the rice flour with the yeast 'Monascus purpureus' and contains the active ingredient monacolin K (= lovastatin), which, in optimal concentration, plays a key role in lowering cholesterol. According to EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), taking 10 mg of Mongolin K per day can help maintain normal cholesterol levels.

Western statin therapy with chemical preparations is also essentially based on the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor Monacolin K. discovered by the Japanese scientist Akiro ENDO in red fermented rice.

In 1986, the scientists Joseph L. Goldstein and Michael S. Brown received the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the chemically identical mevinolin. The drug was then isolated and synthesized, and various chemical products known as statins were made.

Monacolin K - The active ingredient in red rice

Monacolin K, an active ingredient from the monacoline group and in its chemical structure the same as lovastatin and mevinolin.

Statins inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol in the body and are also known under the term 'CSE inhibitors' (= cholesterol synthesis enzyme inhibitors). Red rice capsules lower the cholesterol level in the blood, especially the LDL cholesterol, thanks to the active ingredient Monacolin K.

HDL cholesterol, on the other hand, is slightly to moderately increased. Monacolin K inhibits the action of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is responsible for the production of the body's own cholesterol. Thus, red rice works reliably even with genetically caused high cholesterol levels.

Monacolin K effects a comprehensive regulation of blood lipid levels. This includes:

  • Reduction of the 'bad' LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Increase in the 'good' HDL cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol)
  • Inhibition of arteriosclerotic plaque formation
  • Reduction of existing plaques on the vessel wallsp

This results in the protection of blood vessels and a gradual increase in vascular elasticity, effective prevention of arteriosclerosis, various types of heart failure, cerebrovascular diseases (such as stroke), coronary heart diseases, hypertension, myocardial infarction, etc.

Other active ingredients in fermented red rice

In addition to the lipid-lowering monacolin K (mevinolin), red fermented rice contains a number of other active substances, including other monacolins: Monacoline J, L, M, X, and the hydroxy acid; Dehydromonacolin K, Dihydromonacolin L, Compactin, 3Alpha-Hydroxy-3,5-Dihydromonacolin L, etc.

Other active ingredients of red fermented rice are, for example: γ-aminobutyric acid ('GABA' for short), ergosterol, Monascus pigment, dimerumic acid ('DMA' for short), unsaturated fatty acids, proteins, amino acids, saccharides, beta-sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol, Isoflavones, saponin and sapogenin as well as numerous trace elements.

Cholesterol lowering is quick and reliable with red rice capsules

There is a significant improvement in LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels after just two to three months. At the same time, red rice helps increase the elasticity of the blood vessels and reduce arteriosclerotic plaque. In addition to preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases, it also improves blood circulation, fights free radicals and increases skin elasticity.

Red rice works better as a cholesterol lowering medication

A study comparing red yeast rice with pravastatin (a cholesterol-lowering medication) found that after 12 weeks, red fermented rice was almost twice as effective. The effectiveness of the agent at such a low dose led the researchers to conclude that the other active ingredients in red fermented rice must also play an essential role in lowering cholesterol.

From natural Monacolin K, taking 5 - 10 mg per day is sufficient for reliable effectiveness, while lovastatin in the synthetic form requires an average of 20 - 80 mg per day. The high dosage of the chemical preparations can result in corresponding side effects, which can be exacerbated by the synthetic, inorganic structure of the Lovatstatin preparation.

In 2008, a study published in the American Journal of Cardiology, found a 50% reduction in heart attacks in a group of patients treated with red fermented rice. The authors concluded that the medication worked better than chemical statins in preventing heart disease - and with no side effects.

Therefore, it is not surprising that red fermented rice used to lower cholesterol had an excellent effect and was tolerated without any problems, even in patients who had an intolerance against chemical statin preparations. This could be explained by the higher bioavailability of fermented red rice.
