Protect your heart and arteries
Cardiovascular disease is responsible for 55% of all deaths in the western world, often due to calcification of blood vessels and especially in the coronary arteries of the heart. The medical term for hardened artery is "arteriosclerosis," a dangerous condition that leads to heart attack and stroke. Calcification is often symptom-free but potentially a dangerous condition that, combined with deposits of fat in the arteries, causes clogging of the blood vessels and leads to myocardial infarction, angina pectoris and thrombosis.
Protect your heart and cardiovascular system
Arteriox was developed according to the newest research and combines the most important heart protecting nutrients in a unique formula. The regular intake of Arteriox supports the stability and elasticity of the arteries and protects its health even at old age. Arteriox is not a drug. It is a natural nutrition supplement without any side effects.
Arteriox contains the following vital nutrients because they have been proven in studies to support the health of heart and arteries:
1. Vitamin K2 is essential for a healthy cardiovascular system. Normal deposition of calcium occurs in two organs: bone and teeth. Abnormal deposition of calcium in the body occurs in three places: the inner lining of the arteries (the intima) where arteriosclerotic plaque accrues; the muscle layer of arteries (calcification); and heart valves. Vitamin K2 appears to be the form of vitamin K that contributes to controlling all of these phenomena.
However, calcium has historically been viewed as a passive marker, certainly not an active participant in heart disease. Some maintained that calcium was nothing more than a remnant of prior "rupture", a scar from dangerous inflammatory activity of soft plaque. They even argued that calcium was, in fact, a reflection of increased plaque stability, as the "hard" material was not itself prone to rupture. Thus, they believed that calcium played no active role in contributing to atherosclerotic plaque.
Those arguments have now been dashed by new observations. A definitive connection between Vitamin K2 levels and heart disease, in terms of a large-scale, well-controlled clinical trial, was first described 2004 in the Rotterdam Heart Study. This study showed that people who ate foods rich in natural vitamin K2 over the 10 year observation period, had significantly less calcium deposits in their arteries and far better cardiovascular health. No benefits from K1 consumption was shown in this study. MenaQ7, the natural K2 as MK-7, has been shown in human studies to significantly improve the levels of active MGP, the potent inhibitor of vascular calcification.
Findings in the Rotterdam Study showed that high dietary intake of Vitamin K2 - but not K1 - has a strong protective effect on cardiovascular health. Research conducted in a population-based study including 4807 men and women >55 years of age at start indicated that eating large quantities of natural vitamin K2 (at least 32 mcg per day) reduces the risk of both arterial calcification and cardiovascular death by as much as 50% - with no undesirable side effects.
How does Vitamin K2 work?
For over half a century, Vitamin K has been recognized solely as needed for normal blood clotting. However, in recent years, it has been the subject of significant research, including the discovery of the K-dependent protein MGP - Matrix GLA Protein. MGP is the most potent inhibitor of vascular calcification, and in preliminary animal studies, it was shown to completely inhibit, and even reverse, induced vascular calcification.
Calcification was once believed by medial community to be an unfortunate result of aging. However, it is now known that arterial calcification is an actively regulated process, and one key compound is the vitamin K-dependent protein MGP, or Matrix Gla Protein. MGP is the most potent inhibitor of vascular calcification known, and is the best characterized inhibitor present in arterial tissues. Healthy arterial tissues have been shown to contain 100 times more vitamin K2 than calcified arteries - and no K1!
A recent animal study carried out at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at Maastricht University, in Holland, revealed that vitamin K doesn't just prevent arterial calcification but appears to be able to treat it. The researchers used the anticoagulant drug Warfarin to cause arterial calcification in laboratory rats. They then fed some of the rats a diet that was high in vitamin K, with the result that the amount of calcium in their arteries dropped by a massive 50 per cent, compared with the rats fed a normal diet.
Commenting on the findings, lead researcher professor Leon Schurgers, said: These latest findings on the role of vitamin K2 intake are an exciting development for the management of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease. Our trial is even more significant as it showed that vitamin K2 supplementation was capable of reversing the effects of arterial calcification.
2. Magnesium showed in hundreds of studies that it is vital for a healthy cardiovascular system. Your heart and blood vessels have to pump 5 liters of blood through your body every minute. To perform this unbelievable task, the heart muscle and the smooth muscle cells in the blood vessels need sufficient amounts of magnesium. While too much calcium leads to muscle cramps, magnesium relaxes the muscles and supports the blood flow. Cardiac arrhythmia, tachycardia, high blood pressure and Angina pectoris is thought to be directly connected with magnesium deficiency. Since about 80% of the population suffer from chronic magnesium deficiency it is not a big surprise that functional heart disorders are on the rise.
3. Arginine, L-Carnitine, Choline und OPC enhance the production of NO (Nitrix Oxide). NO is a strong vasodilator and therefore supports the blood flow throughout the whole body. Since it relaxes and widens the blood vessels, NO regulates blood pressure, reduces arterial plaque and prevents blood clothing which can lead to stroke and heart attack. Sports and also a glas of red wine enhances NO production, which explains its heart protecting effect.
4. Vitamin C, Vitamin E, OPC und Copper keep the blood vessels elastic and protect them against free radicals. Healthy blood vessels are extremely elastic tubes which consist from connective tissue and smooth muscle cells. Vitamin C and OPC have a very strenghtening effect on the connective tissue and enhance collagen production in the blood vessels. Together with Copper and Vitamin B6 it keeps the arterial walls stable and elastic. Vitamin C, Vitamin E and OPC are strong antioxidans, which protect the inner layer of the arteries (Endothel) against free radicals and reduce inflammation, which may lead to arteriosclerosis.
5. Vitamin B6, Folic acid, Betain und Vitamin B12 reduce homocysteine. Elevated homocysteine is considered a risk factor for arteriosclerosis and thrombosis and may tripple the risk of heart diseases. If certain B-vitamins are absent, homocystein is skyrocketing. The lower the level of folic acid in the blood, the greater the risk of a thrombosis. This has been proven by researchers at the Tufts University. Smokers need three times the amount of folic acid compared to non-smokers to maintain normal blood levels of folic acid.
6. Inositol, Hexanicotinate and Chromium have shown in studies that they are capable to lower bad LDL-Cholesterol and at the same time elevate the good HDL-Cholesterol. High HDL-Cholesterol is considered an important indicator for cardiovascular health.
7. Vitamin D3 and Boron showed in studies to support strong bones. They protect the cardiovascular system indirectly while binding freely available calcium to the bones.
